The guy came to cut our lawn again so I thought I would get some pictures to show you how they do landscaping around here. Really, there isn't much to it. You cut down everything that is green until all you see is brown. Then you come back in a month and a half and do it again. If the tall "grass" wasn't so sharp and painful to walk through then I might consider leaving the lawn on the wild side. But I bet having it cut short helps keep the bugs away, right? The man used the
weed whacker to cut it and his wife would rake it up into piles. Then he would take the piles closest to the front gate out across the street in our garbage can (with wheels so it was easy, although probably still hard work) and his wife would take the piles in the back of the house to a corner in the yard that has been designated as the clippings spot. The kids would watch from inside the house as they made their way around the yard.
You can see behind him where he has already cut and get an idea of how long the "grass" was before he cut. I didn't take a lawn "after" picture and it isn't the same now because this actually happened a couple weeks ago. Anyway...

Aren't you glad you aren't responsible for taking care of the yard? Man oh man...I could never be a landscaper for a living.
