Here is yet another local fruit that I do not like to eat but my children do. It's the guava and I can't even stand to have the fruit sitting on my counter because I don't like the odor it has. I don't like the flavor, texture, seeds, or anything about it. So I let the kids enjoy them. It is amazing to me that you can eat the entire thing. The rind, pulp, seeds, and there is no core or pit to toss out. So it's really a handy, on the go, snack because all you need is a wipe to clean up the hands and face when they are done, and that's only if your child is a messy eater. (Oh, mine can be.) We stopped by the Annex today and the kids went to the guava tree which is full of ripe fruit so they were all very excited. They enjoyed eating them on the walk home so I wasn't so pressed to get lunch on the table. I did enjoy watching Xiomara eat her guava today - cute!
