Actually, it was my third time going to Cabrits National Park. I went again last Wednesday with the whole family. We went up a different trail than I went on the previous times so there were new things to see and I took lots of pictures. Unfortunately, I'm not liking a lot of the pictures I am taking - mostly due to my lack of ability in controlling what my camera is doing. Oh well. I got some good shots and we'll just have to go back again so I can try to retake the others and make them better. On this particular trail we saw some old buildings that they haven't restored yet so that was really neat. We made it up to the top and the view was great. We were able to see what is on the other side of the peninsula that the park is on and it was really beautiful. We made it back down the mountain to have lunch at Fort Shirley, the restored buildings in the park. Then we went home. After a little while at home we decided we could have done a different trail after lunch and stayed at the park until dinner time. I guess we'll just have to go back again.

The old commandant's quarters.
More of the commandant's quarters.
Emily and Xiomara checking out the plants.
Neat view of the forest, a falling tree and the sun.
This is the bay on the other side of the peninsula.
Can you see the purple flowers? I thought it was neat to see living plants around the old runins.
My boy Ben. He loves to pretend he's using the canon to shoot something out in the bay.
Marissa is always ready to pose - often heard to say, "Take a picture."
Emily had fun shooting the canons too.
What a funny place to lay down... but you can aim better if you're looking down the barrel.
She had a nap in the Kelty kid carrier so she was ready to get out and walk around for a bit.
Here's the view of Prince Ruepert Bay.
