It was my birthday...

I'm a little behind because my birthday was on Sunday (3/29) and I'm just now posting about it. We did most of our official celebrating on Saturday.... That's not really true. We just happened to go out to dinner that night and so I took pictures. The only picture I took on my actual birthday was of my breakfast and card from my parents. But Sunday was the day that my kids kept saying, "Happy birthday, Mom." And I did make yummy brownies and a nice dinner, but that was the extent of it. So, here are the pictures. We went to this new place in town. The restaurant is on the main floor and there are apartments on the upper levels. The sign says, "International Cuisine." What they really mean is: American food for all you Ross students who are missing stuff like hamburgers and buffalo wings and chicken fingers. I guess they had other stuff but I was really wanting the hamburger so that's what I got!

The restaurant is right on the river - hence the name for the restaurant: Riverside Restaurant & Bar. It was very nice to have the river right there - for pictures and sound.

They have some neat fake flowers hung on the ceiling. It's a really nice touch because it distracts you from noticing the tin roof.

There was one table in the corner that was up on a platform. It's a good thing no one was eating at that table because my kids were crawling all over. They were heard to say, "What is this? It's so soft." It was carpet. Marissa even laid down and made a carpet angel. (We haven't touched carpet since we left America in August '08. All the floors here are tile.)

Ben, Marissa and Emily enjoyed the Buffalo wings. Luckily they weren't spicy at all or else they wouldn't have liked them.

Kemiah ate mostly french fries and some of Kevin's pasta. We even let her feed herself, which is something we don't do very often so she was actually a little apprehensive about using her hands to pick up the food.

A big leaf of lettuce came as garnish with the chicken fingers that we had for the kids. Xiomara wanted to eat it. I guess she had no idea what it was so she figured it must be good. She ate the entire leaf and probably wanted more.

How fun! I had to laugh because me and Natalynn got guff from the guys about ordering hamburgers there, too! You have to have what you want, though, or what's the point, right?

Happy Belated Birthday.

I think I have seen you once or twice on the Island but have not really been able to talk to you. My husbands is finishing up 1st semester. My boys both got pretty sick while on the island so we have been home for the last month but we are coming back in April. I was wondering if you had any recomendations on a child carrier for a 2 year old. I don't think I am going to put him back in daycare and I am still debating on keeping my 3 1/2 year old home, so I am trying to figure out a way where I won't be stuck in the house and able to enjoy the fun things in the Island while keeping them home with me. Thanks for any advice you may have for me, your children are adorable! I hope we can get together with the kids when we get back to the Island.

Happy Happy Late Birthday! I kept thinking about you and wanted to call but I was afraid I would call in the middle of the night because I don't know the time difference. So consider yourself loved!
