Gotta share this one.

Tonight, as I was writing in Ben's journal, I asked him what he was grateful for. To my utter amazement and surprise he said, "My cerebrum, so I can think. If no one had a cerebrum we wouldn't have homes, lights, furniture, or any other inventions."

Little background, if you want it, just so you know where it came from. But then, maybe it won't be so funny if you know more. The home school program that we have has started to talk about the human body and the different systems. So we covered the nervous system a few days ago. I guess the cerebrum just stuck with him and he's really glad he can think and do all sorts of stuff.

Also, he's very much into "inventing." He talks all the time about wanting to invent something and then laments that everything has already been invented. Unfortunately, I'm not much help because my mind doesn't work the way it needs to to be able to help him invent something. I do enjoy watching him make things out of paper. His most recent creations have been a paper man with a paper parachute. He used thread to attach them and the man floats nicely to the floor. Also, today he made a paper cannon. To his disappointment Kemiah got a hold of it and ruined part of it with her saliva so he'll have to do it again. His creations are starting to get a little more detailed so that's pretty cool.

Cute story. I'm sure Ben will have a great invention someday, and I will buy it :)

I'll buy it too!! I'm sure it will be brilliant! I thought that maybe the home school program you had started was just sending Ben to the annex to study with Kevin! He's one smart 7 year old!
