So last night I wanted some cinnamon rolls but didn't have time to make them the normal way. I decided to try something different. I used my bread recipe that I have altered at times and made white rolls. I just took it a step farther and added extra sugar and a tsp of cinnamon and mixed it all together. I let it rise and then shaped them into round balls like I normally do. I let them rise a bit (next time I'll let them rise longer) and then baked them like normal. They were yummy and I even had some frosting to try on them. That was really nice but they didn't need it. They were really yummy!
Here's the recipe if you want to try it:
2 cups water
1 TBS yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 c sugar (not level, so a little extra)
1 tsp cinnamon
5 cups white flour
Mix it all together, knead with extra flour to a soft ball.
Let rise in greased bowl until double.
Knead and divide however you want.
Let rise for 1/2 hour.
Bake at 350 degrees until done. Have fun.
