Full Thursday.

I'm a little slow at getting this one posted. I will tell you that Thursday (6/11) turned out to be really busy and fun - even though half my kids woke up throughout the night coughing. As always it was our play day and we started off at the beach near the campus. I didn't take my snorkel stuff so I didn't really get in the water. It only rained on us for a little bit and we had a lot of fun. Some friends showed up and that is always fun. We ate lunch at the beach - the usual pb&j. The kids tried some new things and just had fun together.

This is a picture I have seen on several of my friends blogs but didn't know where it was. We found it on our way to the beach so I was so excited.

I don't know how she does it but she always seems to get sand in spots that it shouldn't be - this time it was her eye. Luckily it didn't bother her and she just kept on playing.

Emily loves to make sand balls at the beach. This time she made several and then buried them in the sand so no one would find them. That's a good hiding place for a sand ball.

Marissa was the explorer today. She went snorkeling along the shore line and was off to find some neat things. I just thought I'd take the picture sideways to make it that much more fun.

On our way home we stopped at the pool to clean up and ended up staying for a bit to swim in the clear water. I did get in this time and we had lots of fun. I didn't take any pictures until we were out and getting ready to leave but thought, "I need pictures at the pool." So this is what you get.

We left there and headed to the river to meet up with some other friends. I did not get in here either but the kids had lots of fun and even tried swinging from one of the vines. We had a very full day and all the kids were ready for bed when I finally tucked them in.

Kemiah fell asleep on the way to the river so she just hung out in the stroller. She did eventually wake up but was happy just staying put so that's where I left her.
They really liked walking around the river on the big rocks. Ben loves having boys to play with and always talks about what he can do with his new friends.
Here's the boy Ben trying to swing on a vine. It was fun to watch them and they thought it was great. Maybe that's what I need to put in the backyard - although having the river is probably most of the fun.

Marissa hurt her foot while at the river so she didn't get to swim very long this time and she was a bit sad.

A local man came by so we chatted for a bit. Then I asked him what he had in the leaf and this is what he showed me... dinner. He cooks these up in a seasoned broth soup thing and then uses a toothpick to pull them out and eat them. He kept saying, "They are very good for you." Yes, I bet they are but I'm not going to try them.

Of course, I have to toss in a lizard picture. It took a bit of patience to get this shot because the lizard didn't want to flash his throat thing for me. But I waited and got a good shot. Thanks little guy.

First of all I love all of your children- they are all beautiful but I would have to say that Emily burying the sand balls is one of the funniest things I have heard- so cute :)

What a fun day! Thanks for letting me tag along for part of it!

The picture of Kemiah with the sand around her eye makes her look like a bit of a pirate, but a dang cute one!! :)
