1. The wind. I'm so grateful that it blows and that it blows in my windows and doors. Fans are good but the free wind is so great.
2. My kids. They are helping me to become what my Heavenly Father wants me to be.
3. Clouds. They add contrast to the brilliant blue sky (and provide some shade).
4. Birds. I love to hear all the different songs and calls.
5. Water. I'm glad that I have running water in my house and drinkable water from Ross.
6. Hymns. I am starting to sing them when I'm cooking in the kitchen. If it only helps me and my attitude then it's worth it.
7. Children's books. I love to hear my kids reading stories to each other. It's just awesome and I'm glad they find joy in reading. (Although they just told me they don't like reading books. That's strange.)
8. Fans. So when there isn't a natural breeze, we can make one.
9. Keens. My feet are so grateful to have comfortable shoes, with all the wonderful walking I am able to do with my healthy body.
10....
I started this list on Sunday because, as I sat at my computer, a nice breeze blew and came in my open windows and I decided I would focus on that instead of how hot it was and is and will be until October. Ironically, we woke up Monday morning to find my Keens and Kevin's sandals (an old pair of no name sandals that he has had for years but only worn since we came to the island) were gone. Someone climbed our fence and took our sandals during the night from our front porch. Ugh. I know life will go on - obviously since it is now Tuesday night - but ugh. I didn't go anywhere Monday but today I had to go shopping (we didn't have any extra TP in the house and with 6 of us using the toilet we really need to have some on hand). I have my Hawaii sandals but they are not the same as my Keens. For the first time since we got to the island I felt every rock, stone, and pebble that I walked on. The straps on the sandals rubbed on my toes and the top of my feet. Oh bother. At least I'm not walking barefoot. I also have my sneakers that I could wear but they might make me hot, although more comfortable. On the bright side, who ever took our sandals left the kids sandals so that is quite a blessing because the kids don't have any other shoes to wear. So, farewell to my Keens.
