There are just some things you can't be prepared for. Like last night for example. I was in the dining room writing in someones journal while they told me about their day. Then I heard something that made me get up to check on the other kids - mainly
Xiomara. I stopped in the hallway outside the playroom and saw her without her skirt or underwear on. She was using her underwear to wipe the floor, which was wet. I immediately asked the obvious question, "Did you wet on the floor?" She said no. I turned and looked down the hallway, and that's when I saw the water flowing out of the bathroom. I turned on the light (the switch is
conveniently located outside the bathroom), thinking the toilet was overflowing, and went in only to find myself standing in a puddle of water and seeing it pour over the brim of the sink. I quickly turned the water off and then dashed to get some towels that we hang in the dining room windows to block the sun in the morning. I was able to stop the flow of water before it spread into the kids bedroom or farther down the hall to the living room. I tried to control myself and wish now that I had just laughed. Oh well. She survived and even said, "I forgive you, Mom." I found raisins in the sink drain, which had plugged it so the water had no where else to go. I still can't figure out where she got the raisins from. We ate them at lunch but we weren't at home for that and she didn't have any pockets to keep them in so it truly is a mystery.
