Midnight Snack

Okay, so it wasn't really midnight. I had gotten the kids to bed and enjoyed a little bite of brownies that we made today. Kevin had just gotten home from studying and was getting his stuff ready for making breakfast in the morning. He found some ants crawling on the inside of one of our cupboards and was busy spraying them with OFF Skintastic - it actually kills them. I grabbed my Ziplock bag with Oreos in it that was on the top shelf of that cupboard... and the ants were all over inside the bag! ARG! I quickly put the bag in the sink, pulled the Oreo bag out of it and cut it open, only to find it swarming with lots of ants. I'm not kidding when I say lots... Now you are probably thinking I tossed out the entire package.... Well think again. I wasn't going to waste that precious treat just because there were little ants all over them. I took each individual cookie and blew the ants off. Yes, a few crawled on my hands and arms but I smacked those. I was able to save all 15 cookies! Once I knew they were safe (for the moment) I quickly grabbed the ziplock and the cookie wrapper, put them in the trash and took it out to the big trash can (along with a few diapers from the bathroom). I decided the best place for the cookies was in one of the Ragu jars that I compulsively saved so they are safe now. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that in the first place. I'm really glad that I'm not a midnight snacker because I probably wouldn't have turned on a light and I would have had a horrible surprise.
