Christmas is coming!

It always feels more like Christmas time when you put up the tree. I meant to do it on Sunday but it didn't get done. Finally, this afternoon I pulled the tree out from under my bed and we put it up in the living room. It's taller than the kids but not by much. We got it from a friend of ours who isn't staying for the holidays so they passed it on to us. We are grateful to have it. There is one string of white lights that do all sorts of stuff - flash, blink, fade, etc. - so the kids really enjoy watching it. Normally I have strings of colored lights that just shine - that's what I prefer but the dancing lights are fun to watch. Almost mesmerizing. The tree also came with little red plastic balls so we hung those on the tree. We will probably make a few more ornaments and maybe a long paper ring chain. I'll see what happens. It's nice to just have something up to help us remember what season of the year we are in because the weather is no indication for us. I also need to figure out how to play some Christmas music throughout the day because that's one of my favorite parts of the season as well. I am listening to a friends blog as I write this because she's got a playlist longer than I can imagine of wonderful Christmas music and I'm just lovin' it.
