Almost a herd.

Last night (1/26) the kids were looking out the window because the cow that has come into our yard occasionally was really mooing loudly. They got very excited. So excited that I finally got up to see what the fuss was all about. To my surprise there were 9 cows in the street in front of our house. We are used to seeing 4 at once but there were nine cows gathered, eating the grass and just milling about in front of the house. I wish I could have gotten a picture (because it is really exciting to see 9 cows all together) but they would not have stuck around if I started moving around outside and it was dark so it wouldn’t really have been a good picture anyway. I’m not sure why I’m so fascinated with these animals that just wander around the neighborhood. I guess if I had grown up on a farm it wouldn’t be a big deal. It almost makes me want to get a calf and raise it so that it is used to us so the kids can pet it and maybe even ride it. Wouldn’t that be fun? No, I don't want a horse.

How many does it take to qualify as a herd then? Seriously, is there a number? K.
