Trafalgar Falls

02.18.09 (102)

Our next stop on our little trip on Wednesday was to Trafalgar Falls. This is the part that killed my legs. They were already worn out from the earlier hiking and swimming at Titou Gorge so I just had to keep going, knowing that it would be worth it. We made it up to the viewing deck and it was a nice sight. Then we continued on (at our own risk, so said the sign) and stopped at the first set of sulfur springs we came to. The kids were excited to get into the very warm water and I will agree it felt a lot better than the cold water of the gorge. (Although after swimming and treading water my body actually liked the cooling of the gorge water.) Kemiah loved the warm water and was really mad when I had to pull her out – she was also very tired and hungry so she really wasn’t happy. We all could have stayed there for a really long time. I didn’t try to take all of us to the bottom of the waterfall – it’s a harder climb over big boulders and stuff – so maybe I’ll have to do that again another time… or just enjoy the pictures my friends took. Then we had to hike back out and I was tired and hungry so I made sandwiches and watched the birds at the feeders.
