I really can't figure out the sunscreen bit. We probably just spent too much time out in the sun so maybe it wouldn't matter how much I put on. I did do better than I have done in the past, thanks to Emily reminding me at lunch time to put more on. Then when I was about to get out the school kids came to swim for a bit. I would have been the meanest mom in the world if I made my kids get out when some friends were just getting in. So we stayed longer than I planned and we are all burnt! Maybe if you are swimming you have to apply the sunscreen every half-hour or hour rather than every two hours. I think next time we'll be the dorks at the pool who wear shirts to protect our backs and shoulders. After all, who wants to have skin cancer? But really I just don't want to hear all the complaining about how much their backs and shoulders hurt and I don't want mine to hurt so we have to do something.
We sure had a good time though. Dad showed up for lunch and then swam with the kids for a bit.
Xiomara and Emily are getting better at swimming and
Kemiah is getting too brave. She went in without her
floaties on and was willing to come to me as if she had her
floaties on so she went under. Luckily, she held her breath and I was right there so she is learning to swim too.

When we got home this is what we found in the driveway. It was pretty cool looking and the "best" part was that it was dead. The kids stared at it for a while, getting closer little by
little. Then I said, "Touch it and I'll take your picture." The three girls were all willing but Ben stayed back.
Xiomara was the first to pick it up. That was a little surprising but it was dead after all. They looked at it for a bit and then I told them to put it in the grass and come in - it was starting to rain for the first time today.

I LOVE that last pic- what a cute little face she has- sorry about the burning-- I do think that it is too long because we've never used sunscreen here yet and no burns -- BUT we aren't there for many hours...hope you are are tan soon and not peeling! :)
Oh dang! I seriously hate sunburns and even though I'm a sun lover, I'm also a freak about sunblock. I just re-spray myself and Tate everyime we get out of the water for a break? But... the pool does look really fun- can't wait to join you in a couple weeks:)!!
2 words...waterproof sunscreen? Maybe that doesn't work in the heat with all the sweating and such. I am still totally jealous even with the burning...I wish I could come visit!
Good luck...can you get solarcaine there?
K.
Sorry to keep you in the water yesterday, but the school kids LOVED having your family there!! Thanks for staying and playing with us! This last picture of Xiomara is priceless, I love it!
