Trashy miscommunication

So, the lawn guys came to weed whack the lawn on Wednesday. One guy uses the weed whacker and the other guy rakes the clippings and gets rid of them. In the past they have used the big trash can that I put on the street for the garbage men. Well, I knew there was some trash in it and I knew the lawn guys would just put the grass on top of the trash and dump it all across the street in the forest. I didn't want that so I took a large trash bag to the raking guy and asked him to put the trash from the can into the bag because I didn't want it dumped in the forest. I had to do more talking that I thought was necessary to explain what I wanted him to do and should have just done it myself right then but the guy eventually understood and took the bag, and asked for another one. I went back inside to do other things. He came back a little while later asking for more bags because the two I had given him were torn up. What? Apparently he did not understand and had used the bags for the clippings instead. I grabbed another bag and went to the trash can, pulled some trash out and he came over to help. Then he asked if I wanted him to take it across the street into the woods. NO! I don't want my trash in the forest. Use the can for the grass, then when you are done we can put the trash back in the can so the garbage men can take it. Oh brother. I'm sure he was saying, "You're a crazy lady." I just couldn't understand how what I said told him to do what he did. Next time I'll slow down when I talk or just do it myself.
