Bonfire on the beach... our first!

It actually happens quite often, bonfires on the beach, but we've never attended any of the functions which involved bonfires on the beach. Well, Saturday some friends made an open invitation to anyone they know and said, "We're having a bonfire on the beach. Come out if you want." I decided maybe I wanted to go. When Kevin was leaving after lunch he said, "So are you going?" I was unsure what to do about dinner and Kevin helped me solve the problem. He said to take it to the pool before so we could eat it and not get all sandy but then after we swim for a bit I'd be right there and could head to the beach. So I made pizza and we headed to the pool. The kids were so excited and we actually made it there without losing any of the pizzas. We ate, and the only kid who ate enough was Kemiah. The others were too excited to go swimming. We had a great time playing with Dad at the pool. Then we got out, he went back to studying, and we headed down to the beach. The kids were so excited to see a fire on the beach. The waves were a bit rough but that didn't stop anyone from playing in the water. They had a great time with their friends and so it was a really fun night. We walked back to the pool to rinse off and then walked home. They took showers and went to bed and were all sleeping withing 5 minutes of laying down. It was really a nice evening. Kevin and I decided we could probably do that more often so we'll see what happens.
