One of the locals, from Church, came to our house to watch General Conference this weekend. On Saturday he brought an avocado and some plantain chips. I dumped the chips into a bowl and diced up the avocado and served them for lunch, along with my easy cinnamon rolls that I had made. I was expecting something like a dehydrated banana chip from back home - sweet tasting. I was surprised when it actually tasted like a potato chip. Not kidding. After I got over the shock of it, I ate some more and they were actually really good. I'm wondering if they are any healthier than regular potato chips. Probably not because they are still fried in oil. It was an interesting snack - and I did like them with the avocado on top. My kids all liked the chips but only Marissa and Xiomara liked the avocado. To each his own.
