So, we woke up to the noise of cows. One particlarly loud one kept mooing and mooing and she was right outside my house! I was finishing making breakfast and stopped to listen to the cow moo. Then I heard something else and I stopped breakfast all together. I stood in our doorway telling my mooing children to be quiet so I could listen. I heard a baby moo. That's what's wrong! The mother was looking for her baby. I looked and looked and finally found the baby. The mother was in our neighbors yard next to us. The baby was in the fenced yard of the neighbor behind us. I sent my two oldest kids over the fence to chase the baby out the gate so it could go to it's mother. They found that someone had latched the gate so the baby couldn't go out on its own. Ben opened the gate and Marissa chased the baby cow. Unfortunately it took a couple tries because the baby cow kept running past Ben rather than going out the gate. I ended up giving Ben a long stick so he could hold it out and that did the trick. Marissa chased the baby and it ran out the gate. Unfortunately it went right instead of turning left. Oh well. It ran around and I watched it come to the front of our house on the road. It did make it to it's mother and ate breakfast. Unfortunately I did not grab my camera when I went outside so you'll just have to try and picture it in you mind. I was just glad to help them get reunited and the mother stopped mooing so we were happy about that, too.

that's a fun thing about where you guys live... no cows for us on the main road- this makes me sad because how many fun stories come just from cows!
very descriptive story, no pictures needed. :) good job ben and marissa, i bet that momma cow was so happy you found her baby!
Oh cute, I think I saw that baby cow before I left. So, #1 Beach is actually lighter sand, definitely lighter than pbh and just overall softer and cleaner too. FOR SURE take your kids there before you leave, they will have a blast!! The beach is HUGE and they can also play in the cool river pool too!
