This is the rooster, with his chickens, that crows right outside my bedroom window every morning. Luckily I don't actually start to hear him until I am consciously awake and that doesn't happen until 6 a.m. But if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night then I can hear roosters crowing from all over. I'm not really sure why they think they need to crow at 2 a.m. all the way to lunch time but they do. Is that what they do on a farm? I thought they crowed as the sun came up and that was it. Well, down here they crow when ever they want. I guess I learned something - among all the other things I've learned.
My kids used to wake up between 5:30 and 6 a.m. when we first got here. Now they have adjusted and are back to their usual 7 o'clock wake up. That is so much better for all of us, even though I'm up at 6 anyway. It's nice to have that hour to myself in the morning.
