What's for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

What should I do when my poor little kids get tired of the meals I make? I have narrowed breakfast down to 3 things - instant oatmeal that I make myself (not the nicely prepackaged stuff), cream of wheat with sugar toast, and pancakes (white, wheat or sometimes banana or cinnamon). Every once in a while I'll make french toast just to throw everyone off balance. On Sundays we have cold cereal but the milk isn't very good so most of us eat our cereal dry. For lunch we are limited to leftovers (if we have any), or sandwiches on bread or tortillas (if we have any leftover but I prefer fresh). I have expanded our dinner options to include maybe 9 recipes: German pancakes (but we really prefer having sour cream which we don't always have), quesadillas with cheese and chicken or ham (best with sour cream), fajitas (also need that ever so yummy sour cream), homemade pizza, pizza stromboli, macaroni salad, scrambled egg omelet, potato chowder (but I keep forgetting to have Kevin get more potatoes)and the not so popular but easy to make spaghetti.

Now, having said that, it all sounds good enough. But Marissa hates cream of wheat and Ben doesn't like the wheat pancakes. Xiomara doesn't seem to like any pancakes or leftover tortillas. Marissa is tired of sandwiches of any type. Emily doean't like french toast. The three oldest kids like the instant oatmeal stuff the best but Xiomara and I don't like it that much. And then there is Kemiah. She is still taking a bottle, formula that we brought from the states, and she'll eat most things but sometimes not very much so I'm not sure if she is full or just doesn't like what I'm feeding her. It's really getting hard to cook around here.

Add in to the mixture that it's a propane stove/oven so it cooks a little different but I am getting the hang of it. What I hated the most when we first got here was the pasta. I couldn't get it to cook right to save my life so I would make dinner and then no one (including the adults) wanted to eat it because the pasta was gross. The same thing happened with the rice. I am getting the hang of this too so at least now the food is usually edible, even if the kids don't like it. I'm glad that the pasta is working out because the favorite dish is the macaroni salad and it really is much better when the pasta isn't mushy.

The thing that has really saved us all from starvation has been the bread items. I have figured out how to make bread that is really good. The flour tortillas are wonderful fresh and maybe next day but much drier and less appetizing after that. (Luckily I introduced Kemiah to tortillas and peanut butter mixed with honey. She loves it, even if the tortilla is a little dry.) The pizza crust is wonderful so I could eat it every other night. And the newest addition is the pizza stromboli - bread sauce mixed in the dough and then rolled up with cheese and meat. Yummy!

Everyonce in a while I throw in a meal like basil garlic chicken with rice, or homemade cream of chicken soup over rice. Unfortunately we have yet to really figure out how to make the rice texture feel nice so it's not a favorite around here. Which is kind of hard because we used to eat rice a lot back in Alaska but it was Jasmine rice and that stuff was just really good!

So if you have any easy recipes that you want to share, we are open to any suggestions!

Wow, I wouldn't survive even a week where you are. The dining habits of my family consist of picking our favorite restaurant. You are amazing to cook every meal every day for your family! What an incredible mother you are!
Hey, how is medical school treating Kevin? I never hear about him. Love ya!
