Happy Halloween!

Although it is not a holiday that the locals celebrate, there are enough American students and their families here that we feel the need to perpetuate the feast of candy for the kids. We had two celebration options - Church or Spouse's group from the university. Due to Marissa's sickened condition (she had an upset stomach), I opted for the smaller Church party. For a week before the holiday I figured I could just skip it and my kids wouldn't even notice. Besides, I didn't want to have to come up with 5 costumes for the kids. On Thursday, two of my friends came over to learn how to bake bread (yes, I was the teacher) and one of them suggested we dress up as the rainbow - each one of us as one of the colors. I could do that. Marissa was okay so we did it. The kids had fun playing a few games, decorating sugar cookies, and they got a couple pieces of candy. I think that's just right. It all worked out fine so I made it over another hurdle that I put in my way.

WOW - what a great idea - go as a rainbow. I always go dressed as a human. I am an alien you know. The human costume I have to wear is tight on my head.
