If we had been in Alaska (or most any place in the US, and maybe else where in the world but I can't speak for that) she would have gotten a bump. How do I know? It happened more than once in Alaska. Xiomara would fall and end up hitting her forehead on a corner. An instant red spot and bump would form and it would soon turn purple. Unfortunately the house here is made out of cinder blocks. So when she fell last night and her forehead met the corner it did not just form a bump it cut it open. Like all head wounds, the blood came pouring out. Luckily it stopped quickly. Kevin and I both decided that she needed to be looked at -mostly because we don't have anything to help pull the wound closed. Kevin opted to take her - even though he had just gotten home from studying and it was dinner time. Marissa cried, I guess because of the thought of Xiomara getting stitches. They came home sooner than I anticipated and so I knew she didn't get stitches. They gave Kevin some adhesive Steri-strips to pull it closed and then said to put a band aid over it. She seems to be doing fine today and hasn't played with the band aid at all.
